Facilitation

When you are a member of a team, or a leader or manager of it, it can be difficult to help the team reflect constructively together. So if your team is:

  • facing a problem it is not resolving or
  • not actively thinking about how it can improve services or
  • feels 'stuck' or
  • sees itself as a victim of other people in the organisation or
  • acrimonious in its dealings between team members or
  • not a rewarding team to be part of

then you may benefit from asking a facilitator to help you address issues of concern.

Facilitators can work with you for just one session or over a period of months - even years. Sometimes the roles change from facilitator and facilitated to those of mentor and mentee. Facilitation helps people to say things they want to say and to hear things other people want them to hear, by remaining impartial, encouraging constructive expression, reframing statements that may cause offence into constructive alternatives, summarising arguments into issues that can be dealt with, and helping participants to reflect on interpersonal processes.

If you would like to discuss whether facilitation is the most appropriate intervention for you and your team contact us on info@reallylearning.com
